Mechanical Properties
Generally, in the annealed state, its tensile strength is about 124MPa, the yield strength is about 55MPa, and the elongation is about 25%. After heat treatment (T6 state), the tensile strength can reach more than 290MPa, the yield strength is about 240MPa, and the elongation is 8% – 12%. Its hardness is about 30HB in the annealed state and can reach about 95HB in the T6 state. In addition, the elastic modulus of 6061 aluminum alloy is about 68.9GPa, and it has good fatigue resistance.
Applications
Due to its good comprehensive properties, 6061 aluminum alloy is widely used in many fields. In the aerospace field, in the automotive industry, in the electronic equipment field, in the construction industry, in the fields of mechanical manufacturing and shipbuilding and others.
