3003 Alloy Profile

3003 aluminum alloy:
*Chemical composition::
Aluminum (Al): Balance.
Manganese (Mn): 1.0 – 1.5%.
Silicon (Si): ≤0.6%.
Iron (Fe): ≤0.7%.
Copper (Cu): 0.05 – 0.20%.
Zinc (Zn): ≤0.10%.

Mechanical properties

Tensile strength: It varies in different states. For example, the tensile strength of 3003-H14 aluminum sheet is approximately 145 – 195MPa. Generally, in the annealed state, its tensile strength is usually 140 – 180MPa.
Yield strength: Taking the 3003-H24 aluminum sheet as an example, the yield strength is 115MPa. Generally, the proof yield strength ≥ 115MPa.
Elongation: It varies in different states, usually between 15% – 35%.
Hardness: The Brinell hardness is approximately 32 – 40HB.
Shear strength: About 75 – 105MPa.

Characteristic:

This alloy cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, but its mechanical properties can be improved by cold working. It has high plasticity in the annealed state, acceptable plasticity in the semi-cold-worked hardened state, and low plasticity in the cold-worked hardened state. It has good corrosion resistance and weldability, but poor machinability.

Applications

As a widely used anti-rust aluminum, the 3003 aluminum alloy is applied in the following fields:
Architectural decoration field, Electronics and electrical appliances field, Transportation field, Daily necessities and others.
